Elisapie – Facing the Music

The documentary film Elisapie — Facing the Music tells the story of Inuk singer-songwriter Elisapie Isaac’s personal and creative journey.

Following the track list from her third solo album The Ballad of the Runaway Girl, Elisapie brings viewers into her rich and complex universe of oppositions and contrasts: the universe of a woman, an artist, an activist, and a mother.

Through the course of encounters with inspiring people, including her biological mother Eva (for whom she wrote a love song), Dr. Stanley Vollant, singer and producer Florent Vollant, musician Willie Trasher, astronaut David Saint-Jacques and author Natasha Kanapé Fontaine, Elisapie shares her discoveries, musings, and pride for her culture.
